About

Zabou started working in the Geneva nightlife scene in 2008 managing a night bar. This was followed by more than 10 years of associative work and event planning in structures such as clubs, bars and festivals. Her interest in issues of gender and sexual violence was sparked by her experience as a woman in a predominantly male environment, then her involvement in the pilot project of We Can Dance iT in 2017. As part of a nightlife umbrella organisation in Geneva (GCN) since 2016, she has a front row seat to understand issues faced by venues and their audiences. She started to be really involved with We Can Dance iT in 2021. Since, her missions are: - to develop the project in Geneva and french part of Switzerland; - to assist nightclubs and cultural events in a long term work to make the night more welcoming and equal for all: public, staff, management, with her expertise and tools developed by the association. - to organise awareness actions on sexism and sexual and gender-based violence during the summer in collaboration with the city of Geneva.
