Dirk Baier studied sociology, psychology and political science at Chemnitz University of Technology. After his studies, he worked for ten years at the Criminological Research Institute of Lower Saxony, where he worked intensively on the topic of juvenile delinquency, among other things, in which he also completed his doctorate. In 2015, he took over the management of the Institute for Delinquency and Crime Prevention in Zurich.
