About

I hold a PhD in Human Geography from the University of Barcelona (2009). Since 2019 I am FCT Associate Research Professor in Urban Geography at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences at NOVA University Lisbon. My main research topic is the interplay between nightlife, tourism and urban change in southern European cities. I am Editor of Exploring Nightlife: Space, Society and Governance (2018), and co-editor of Exploring Ibero-American Youth Street Cultures in the 21st Century – Creativity, Resistance and Transgression in the City (2022). I am founder and coordinator of LXNIGHTS Research Group, an international team of scholars working on the geographies of the urban night, and co-founder of the International Night Studies Network.
